That is what I spent some time doing on Saturday while I had the house completely to myself. I searched around on Facebook and found so many people that I had lost contact with over the years. Family, old school friends, and friends from an old job. It was a day full of some roller coaster moments.
While chatting with a family member I was reading a post on her wall about my bff from high school Jami. Seems she and her daughter and a friend of her daughters was in a serious car accident this past Thursday morning. I was completely devestated. I had just minutes before reading that found her again and posted a friend request to her. Now I find out she is in the hospital completly broken all over the left side of her body. I did find out today that she is off the ventilater and doing better.
Was able to chat with my old boss Amanda for a bit and it was great to talk again after five years. Neither of us really know why we lost contact other than just being busy with daily life. Hoping to get together with her in the next couple of weeks to really reconnect.
After spending a sleepless night worrying about Jami and her family and thinking about all the changes that have happened in my life over the past 20 years since high school I decided I cannot let life get so busy that I loose focus of my friends. I need them in so many ways even if it is long distance. Email, facebook and the occasional phone call are certainly better than nothing at all.
