Cards for Heroes

and a holiday weekend.

Recently I came across this awesome website called Cards for Heroes and I just sent off my first package of cards yesterday. I made over 60 cards that the soldiers can send out, and also made some thanks and birthday cards for Any Hero. It was alot of fun and I plan to continue making cards as I have time to send. I think we missed our opportunity to get going on the haying. We have been dry and hot all week which really meant that the ground itself could finally set up, well we didn't get started and was going to possibly start next week. Yup! I is supposed to rain everyday over the next 7 days. Scattered showers with anything from 20% to 60% and so I am sure that dad will wait. We really could have had alot of it done with a week of nice and at least accomplished something, but now we are in that ever unpopular state of "Wait and See"

We have no plans for the weekend. I figure we will just hang out at home since it will be somewhat nice and maybe we can get some yard work done. I am sure that the girls will make some sort of plans so as not to be stuck home "working" but who knows. They will have Monday off from school and then will finish out the week as make up days. Friday will be a half day and their last one until the end of July sometime.

I cannot believe that Tori will be a senior next year. Amazing girl there I tell ya! She is super smart and talented and has such potential. I know that we will all be busy with planning for college and making sure we hit all those deadlines and filling out countless applications and scholarship forms. Fingers are crossed that she gets alot of aid and scholarships and gets into the school she wants to.

Well, I have been working on some of those neglected projects today and making plans for some that will be gifts. I really want to make some special things for the girls for Christmas, and I have plans to make Tori an album to give at graduation. I really have had that one somewhat planned for about 2 years as I made a similar one for Amber. I have all the stuff collected for the most part just need to decide on the kind of album and the color scheme. It is going to be awesome!
