Counting Down + Reflecting

As 2008 begins to wind down and the new year coming more into focus I find myself reflecting on the past as well as dreaming about the future. What changes did I make that I want to stick with and what changes do I need to continue to strive for. I think overall that 2008 was a good year. I learned some things about myself, I travelled and met many new friends, I watched as my children grew more independent, I watched as my parents' health made some improvements, and I watched another year whisk by in a blink of an eye.

I am really excited for the new year to start and for the chance to start fresh with the goals for improving myself. I know that the year long class with Jason & Kolette Hall is going to open my eyes to new things, and I plan to take part in the Project 365. I plan to get the Becky Higgins KOTM on January 1 and really strive to complete what I know can be a very fulfilling life challenge.

I spent the past few days purging and organizing in my scrap room again. I did the same thing at the beginning of 2008 while taking the class on Big Picture with Wendy Smedley. Over the past year I have discovered that I don't really scrap in the way the at my paper was organized and I set out to get it done. It looks great and I have a box full of paper to go to a worthy cause. It feels great to see all that paper labeled and stored in a proper way. Now for a few other areas to be purged and I will feel even better.

The new year always brings on feelings of organizing and renewing the house. Both Will and I have talked about what we want the basement to be used for other than a scary junk hole. With Emily moved back upstairs into her room and Christmas behind us we can get going on the cleaning out of the "scary" and make room for the "I know just where that is!" Even Tori is in the spirit and is ready to make a trail in her room.

In farm news, we have now got 12 babies. 7 boys and 5 girls. All various shades/hues of black with little to distinguish them from eachother. It is so great to drive through them looking for any new and counting the ones we know we have and watching them play. They really are just like toddlers learning how to walk and run. Way too fun. The older babies that we still have are more like teenagers. Looking for anything to keep them from being bored and always looking for trouble.

Did I tell you we got a Wii for Christmas? I never remember to read back at older posts, and I have no memory. Anywho, too much fun. I am waiting for a day when no one is here but me so that I can try it out without making a fool of myself. Almost had that chance yesterday but ended up working all day long with mom and dad. Luckily for me next week will be the beginning of "back to normal hours" around here.

Well, off to bed! I am not a night owl for sure!
