Give a little

Stop today and give a little silent prayer to all that are being remembered today. For me Memorial Day isn't just about our fallen soldiers, but everyone that has passed on before us. I have yet to visit a grave site of any of my family members, but I still take a bit of time to remember them.

We have started haying which means long, hot days and hopefully hay off the ground by the end of each day. So far we haven't had the luck we needed to get that done. We cut 4 fields and so far have only been able to roll 1. I had to go over 2 fields yesterday and "Tetter" or scatter the hay across the ground so that it could dry easier. My hope was to get it raked up today and get it baled but woke up to rain. That puts the brakes on the whole day.

School is finally out. Friday was their last day, and graduation for the LCHS was yesterday. Tori went to see her friends graduate and hopefully will be home sometime today. Emily packed up her little suitcase and is at grandma's house for the duration. Mom says that she will make sure Emily visits once in awhile. It is amazing that the kid can be 4 miles away and never see her. She is looking forward to staying with the grandparents and really helping them out. It helps that they put in a swimming pool a couple of summers ago.

I have been trying to get some reading done. I read and finished "My Sisters Keeper" last week and was totally devastated by the ending but still enjoyed it. I am currently trying to read "19 Minutes". I am having a little more trouble getting into it as the beginning is heartwrenching. That Jodi Picoult sure knows how to write a book!

I have also been trying to do a little something creative daily. I have finished a couple of the handmade books from class, been making some cards to keep onhand, preparing for some upcoming classes by getting the preclass work done and basically just trying to do a little something. I feel cheated if I can't sit down and do a little something every day. Having my room organized has been such a big help.

Well, since the haying day is shot I guess that means I can do the laundry instead. I know the Tori started it on Saturday but I have no idea how much she got done before she ran off to town. I know that I am getting low on socks!
