Christmas is when?????

I am really trying not to freak out about the fact that Thanksgiving is just next week, and Christmas is rolling quickly down the hill at me. I am trying not to freak out over the gifts that we need to still get (what? you are not done shopping yet?) or made in the coming weeks. I have gifts that require shipping across the country so I have to get them done so that they will make it on time.

For some reason (insanity maybe) we are having a small Thanksgiving here at the house. This is the first time we have had any kind of get together like this, usually we do things like this in the warmer months so that everyone can go outside and not walk on top of eachother. In a way I am really looking forward to the actual dinner as I LOVE Thanksgiving dinner, but the having to clean and make the house presentable is what is so nerve wracking to me. I have a scrap area that is close to collapse due to overstacking and I have no where to put it cuz dang it I need it to be creative!

Woke up to rain this morning. Got about an inch and temps in the low 70's (yes, it is almost the middle of November) we needed the rain, but I really hate being soaked, and again I got it because we needed to feed hay to the girls. They appreciated the hay, and I did dry off and curl up with my book and read for awhile after getting in.

I am currently reading Eat, Pray, Love and am really enjoying it. After I get finished with it I plan to read Kite Runner. Tori says it is wonderful.

Found 2 different ideas for perpetual calendars, and thought that they would make good gifts for teachers, friends and such. Actually you could really have both as one is small and would fit in a purse and the other is made to hang on the wall. They will be easy to make and hopefully appreciated.

Hopefully our oven will get fixed later this week or early next week (um, like before Thursday!!!) The bake element went out, and so we have been without and oven for about 2 weeks now. Doing some creative cooking on the grill and last night Will made the most awesome salad. Pecan Chicken salad with Walnut Raspberry Vinegrette dressing. It was yummy! Similar to what you can get at a restuarant, but better because we didn't have to leave home!

Well, need to start working on these gifts if they are ever going to get done!
