RAIN!!!!!

We got rain, and alot of it! It started about 8a.m. on Monday and is still raining, although it is finally letting up to just a sprinkle every now and then. Total we got about 5-7 inches of rain. The ponds are once again full and the Mud River is out of its banks. It was a mess to work in, but so welcome.

We spent all day Monday and Tuesday getting the cows in and shipping the calves off. We hauled 8 trailer loads of calves to the shipping yard to head to Nebraska yesterday. For the first time in years we had no trouble getting everyone in and loaded and gone. Ususally we spend days getting all the calves to come in the corral, but I think the rain really helped out there.

Today I have done nothing but rest. I went back to bed around 8:30 after choring (in the rain) and slept until almost noon. It felt sooo good to just rest and warm up. Fall is here finally and so are the cooler temps.

One thing that we haven't done yet this year is get some pumkins. I had hoped to go to the Pumkin patch, but time just slipped away and with all of us so busy the girls haven't even asked about them. I almost wonder if they have forgotten Halloween. The trick or treating is on Tuesday the 30th this year I guess because of religious reasons and that really just throws everything off.

Emily is trying out for the schools Archery team. They had their first meeting last night. She seems really excited about it.

Saturday is gonna be sooo busy! Tori takes her ACT at 8 a.m., Emily has Super Sats in BG at WKU at 9:30, then Tori has to be at WKU by 2:30 and the eye doctor at 4:15, then the Football game by 5:00. I think I will be ready to scream by the end of the day!

Wednesday the 31st Tori heads to Louisville for the Beta convention. She hasn't even had time to finish her project yet. Hopefully she can get it done sometime soon!

Emily is a major brainiac we found out. She scored Distinguished in all 4 areas of the CATS test last year and has straight A's. I am so proud of her. Oh, and she lost another tooth this morning. That makes 2 molars in about 3 weeks, and she has teeth coming in all over. She is excited to see the changes.

Maybe if the wind keeps blowing all the leaves will be somewhere other than in my yard! Seems to be blowing from the North today.
