Got a phone call at 5 a.m. from Tori. She was waiting for her luggage to arrive at Baggage Claim at Heathrow in London, England!!!!! She was soooooo excited about being there. You could hear it in her voice. When I asked how the plane ride was she said that she just pretended that it was a really loooooonnnnngggg car ride (yea! 12 hours!)
It made me feel so much better after talking to her, especially after the dream I had about her flight. Lets just say watching the news or movies anymore is just so not worth it when something like sending your child halfway around the world. Too many bad things can happen. But I have to look at the bright side in that she is having the time of her life right now, well maybe not right now as it is only 4 a.m. London time.
I got to go with Emily to her scrapbook camp at Scrapbook to Remember today. She was so excited about having me there, but she only asked for my help a few times. She is independent enough and crafty enough not to need my input on much. Most of the time she thinks of things I don't.
Conversation we had on the way to BG today:
Emily: Mom, can you name the capital of every state?
Mom: Not anymore, I used to be able to.
Emily: Your supposed to say "Yea-Washington DC"
Mom: Washington DC is the capital of the United States, not a state
Emily: I know mom, it was a joke!
Mom: Duh! (She made me feel like an idiot again)
Now Emily is one of the brightest kids I know. I have always thought that she has a very old soul in her. I am not sure I believe in reincarnation, but I do think that there is something extraordinary in her. She is absolutly a no nonsense type of person. She knows what she wants and most of the time knows how to get it. She is a girly girl, so much prissier than her sisters every thought of being. She is someone that will make me very gray before my time and I may not have any hair by the time she is old enough to leave the nest. But I love her beyond words. She is my baby, and always will be.
She called wanting to stay over night with the cousins, and when asked about clothes for tomorrow, she said that regardless of anything else I picked out she had to wear a pink shirt. She was going to wear a pink shirt everyday to her class. Okay, I have no idea why she would want to wear nothing but pink this week, but whatever, I am hear to please :)
