I have alot of handmade cards. I try to use up scraps by making cards to have on hand for various birthdays and such. I try to keep cards for just about every occasion around but I find I am lacking in some areas such as Get Well, Sympathy and Holiday specific types. I found a new challenge blog 365 cards and have gotten alot of ideas. Each day is a different "challenge" with chances to win prizes and such but since I really dislike taking pictures and uploading stuff I rarely do that, but with the weekly sketches, ad inspiration and links to such wonderfully crafty ladies I think I just may get some of the cards made in the areas that I am lacking.
I find making masculine cards the hardest. I am not sure why because I try to keep those types of papers on hand for just that reason and with various birthdays and Father's Day cards to keep around you would think they would be easy. Nope, not for me. I am always worried they are too frilly or something.
My foot is feeling a bit better. I have been good about wearing the boot around for the past 2 days. The swelling has gone down and the bruising seems to gone as far as it is going to go. My baby toe still looks like a mess but at least it has gone from dark purple to more of a red grape color. It still hurts like the dickens if I step on it wrong but I hope to be getting back to work soon. I hate having my folks do it all themselves, but in a way it really is good for them. Maybe they will see that we really need to cut back drastically.
Will got the lawn mowed yesterday and it looks sooo much better. I felt bad for not being able to help, but the mowing season around here lasts a really long time so I will have plenty of chances to do it. We bought us a new shrub yesterday while at Wal-Mart. It is some sort of bamboo (looks more like a Nandina) and we planted it on the road side of the new satelite dish to help cover that ugly bad boy up. The bleeding hearts are blooming and most all of the hostas are peeking through the ground. Maybe someday this fall I will get some bulbs planted so that come this time next year I will have some pretty tulips and such. I can only hope!
Off to hobble down the stairs to start on the laundry.
