Where is the month going?

Can you believe that the month of February is half over already? And what exactly have I accomplished this month? Not much that is for sure! At least nothing to write home about. I have been finding my way around Facebook. Not so sure about that as I am really not someone that cares to spend alot of time on the computer and if I am trying to find someone I want to find them NOW, not hunt through 1000's of like named people. My girls were rather astonished when they seen me on the site though so I guess that makes me cool in their eyes.

We have sufficiently recovered from the ice storm. Most of the limbs are taken care of and aside from some too big to cut with anything other than a chainsaw we are ready for the mowing season to start (next month!) We have had some pretty good wind during some other storms recently and anything that had been broken or loosened by the ice but didn't succumb has taken a fall. There are some really big trees down all over the place. Some areas look like a war zone because of all the broken tops.

Things are pretty much normal around here. Amber and David moved last weekend into a smaller apartment in the same complex. The living with the brother wasn't working out too well and after a year they decided enough was enough. Hopefully they will be happy now. Emily got her second set of braces on Monday. She has been doing pretty good with them and came home from school yesterday all excited because she had been able to eat lunch. It took her 30 minutes, but she managed pretty well.

Valentines Day was spent in Bowling Green. Emily had her class on campus that I went with her to, then we dropped her off with Amber to spend the rest of the weekend with and we hit the line at our favorite restaurant for dinner. We figured a 45 minute wait at 4pm wasn't too bad. Any weekend in Bowling Green you have that. After eating on the way out the line was really backed up and I am sure that the wait was at least an hour if not longer. We were lucky to get in when we did. After eating we did some shopping for Emily's March birthday. She has been wanting a dresser that matches her other furniture so we got her one that will work pretty well. Also found her a cool lamp. Next on her list of wishes is an alarm clock and hangers. Oh and we have to go to Build-a-Bear to use the $20 bear bucks we have.

In farm news we are in the home stretch for having babies. We have little ones in all colors running around all over. Total we have lost 5 this year, and one cow but that really is pretty good odds considering we have 150 head of cows to calve. We are planning on selling about 10 head of cows and 2 more bulls this week at the local market and then we may see about selling pairs. The herd really needs to cut down and sometimes pairs go for more than a single cow does so we will be looking into getting rid of some more.

Well, I must go to work, would much rather crawl back into bed as I feel a bit under the weather.
