Catching my breath

or at least trying.

Dad had his surgery on Thursday and came home on Saturday. He is doing pretty well with it. Will and I have had to go over several times to help him get up or down out of bed but each day/time get easier for him.

Today starts what looks like a really bad week of rain, cold, sleet and misery. Today we are under a winter freeze warning and I have been watching the news for early dismissal of the schools. When it was 2 degrees in Kansas City this morning and moving our way things can't be good. As of right now schools are letting out at 1pm which is good.

We had our first baby of the season yesterday. He is the cutest and bounciest boy. I haven't gotten a picture of him yet but hope to catch up with him soon. Two more cows are really close to calving and so I have been checking on them when I feed.

I am no more ready for the holiday than I was a week ago. I need to wrap majorly and have only managed to get the gifts that needed to be shipped done. Luckily Tori will be off of work after today until friday and should be able to get it done or at least help me and Emily with it. Plus of course there is the wrapping that needs to be done over at moms house.

I have a couple more cards to make and send out and then I will call it done. I have had alot of fun making up this years cards and there have been a variety for sure.

My boys lost to Houston yesterday, but they are still going to the playoffs with their great record. If they beat the Steelers next week then they will have home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The next few weeks will be tough but they should do better than they did yesterday.

Well, instead of piddling on the computer I will get off and get something done. It won't be too long before I will be needing to head out to feed again.
