First Job

Tori has officially gotten her first job. She applied to and had two interviews at a new little restaurant in Russellville called Fox's Pizza. She is excited and goes back Monday to fill out all the paperwork. She will learn all the different jobs starting in the kitchen and will be working 15-20 hours a week unless it starts to interfere with her school work. I don't see if interfereing with school but I can see it putting a cramp in the social calendar. Kevin has still not gotten a job yet and doesn't really seem to concerned, but maybe I don't have all the facts.

It is raining buckets here today. It started around midnight and by 6am was really coming down. I am sure that there are at least 2-3" so far and it is supposed to rain through the noon hour. We need the rain for sure, but now that it has gotten colder the grass willnot grow anymore. Will be feeding hay more often soon.

Will and I had a great visit with his Granny the other day. We got there around lunchtime and went to eat at Will's favorite fast food joint, A & W. It was good. While we were eating we got word that WKU was in lockdown due to someone shooting. Turns out that it was only a fight that got out of hand but the lockdown was necessary with the information they had at the time. I am sure there are critics out there, but I would rather know that they were proactive and took action instead of waiting for more information and risking lives.

Tonight is the Fall Festival at Chandlers. Emily will be working a booth for the Gifted & Talented for awhile so I guess we will head out there. It is a fun way for the kids to get out and play and be safe. It is even better than Halloween! I remember growing up that my school had one on Halloween night. Everyone would attend and it was great fun. Trick or Treating was done first and then we all headed to the school gym for games, treats and fun. It was a great way for the school to raise money and it kept kids off the streets.

Having fun planning my gifts for this year. The Giving Well class has been a lifesaver. Kolette Hall has come up with some great ideas and I cannot wait to get started on some of them. I have one in the finishing stages and have plans for 2 others at the moment. There are still 7 more projects to be given out over the next week or so.

Well off to enjoy this rainy, dreary day.
