Okay, so yesterday was my birthday

I really dislike celebrating my birthday in any way, but my family insists that we must. I celebrated by being totally lazy watching QVC for something I thought I couldn't live without. I did good and only bought the new kit from Tim and the Grunge Board that they had on. After the kids got home from school I was able to open the presents that had been mocking me all week. I got the first season of Eureka (a SciFi Channel show that I love) a new cartridge for my Cricut and some books that I had on my Amazon wish list. Will also surprised me with a Sapphire journey necklace.

For dinner we had over my parents and Will's parents. We had steaks, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies and pasta and rolls. It was really good and everyone ate up. I got some nice aromatherapy lotions from Carol and Jim and a stuffed cow and $$ from my folks. All in all it was a nice day. No one sang Happy Birthday and since I didn't request a cake we had no cake. But really when 39 is no biggie then why go to the trouble. I figure that someone will be planning a big surprise for next year.

Things around here have really just been trucking along. I have too many projects started and not completed as usual. Fall break starts this weekend and goes for 2 weeks. I am not ready for the kids to be home for that long and since we had to cancel our plans to go to Chattanooga this year due to the cost of everything then I guess they will spend the entire time complaining about being bored. I do have some plans for them, but I am sure that they will not like them too much.

I have been trying to get Christmas stuff planned and ordered if necessary. The girls have stated what they want and so it is just a matter of time picking some of it up. Books are high on their list of items which we love, so we have been uploading that list to Amazon as we have time. I found a few little things for Will in my travels but have no idea what to get him overall. He isn't really any better at deciding what he wants/needs than I am so it is a toss up. I still haven't completely decided what to do for him for our anniversary, he will be out of town working that day, but I thought I should do a little something for him for putting up with me for 5 years. Maybe something will pop into my head soon!
