Okay, so as a mom I have the power to veto much. Everyday I seem to get asked a million questions. I have done a little thinking about this and have decided that besides the old standards of Yes or No, I am more apt to say "We'll See". I suppose that most of the time I am more than a bit distracted, and the rest of the time I am fed up with those million and one questions that have been asked already.
Kids do learn quick though. Tori learned a long time ago that if you want to go somewhere over the weekend you don't wait until the day before to ask me. You will definilty get a NO. Ask me on a Monday and you will probably get a YES but sometimes depending upon the request get the old standby. This is used when I need to either confer with Will OR just want more time to come up with a suitable excuse why she can't go.
I remember hating being told no as a kid, who doesn't, but as a parent the shoe is on the other foot and we have soooo much more to worry about. Somedays I wonder if I was cut out to be a parent, but three kids later I guess I am.
Today I am feeling on the dumpy, icky, grumpy side of life. I slept crappy and woke up miserable. After doing the chores and getting everyone off for the day. I went back to bed to wallow and woke up three hours later feeling better. A shower and something to eat and I may even feel human.
The laundry seems to be growing up the walls again. With school started again then we seem to go through twice the amount of daily clothing. I insist that the kids change out of school attire when they get home and so because they are girls (I think) they think that they can only wear something once and it is dirty, even if that was just up the stairs to check themselves out in the mirror. Anywho, I suppose I should at least pack it downstairs and sort it. Emily likes to do the laundry but she likes me to sort it out for her first. I may just lay back down and finish reading the new book I started yesterday. The Last Lecture is a wonderful book.
Speaking of books, am I the only person on the planet who hasn't read the Stephanie Meyer books? Tori finished the latest one in a day. I see several mentions in the blogs I read but I have never read any of them. I haven't read any of the Harry Potter books either though. Twilight is on the list of books for BPS. I figured I may have to read the other three after reading it, but I will wait to see.
