Childhood & Superhero's

What would I pass on from my childhood? I fondly remember being outside and playing ALL the time. Not inside watching TV like kids do now. I remember being told to be home for dinner and that was it, you were gone and having the time of your life. I can't get my kids to play outside for very long because there seems to be sooo much else they would rather do.

One thing that I find truly embarrassing on my part is that the youngest two have no idea how to ride a bicycle. I mean what kid grows up not know how to ride? Mine. The first excuse they could come up with was that we lived on a gravel road and they didn't want to ride on the rocks. The road has been paved for 4 years now and still nothing. Emily even got a bicycle from her grandparents a couple of birthdays ago and she refuses to even try because it doesn't have training wheels. She is 11 and tall enough NOT to need them but I cannot convince her to learn. I told them that I failed parenting in that aspect for sure.

Okay, yesterdays writing excercise was to give my superhero side a name. Now I thought and thought and cannot seem to find my superhero side to begin with, much less come up with a name, so someone on the board kindly posted a link to a quiz site that gives you your superhero name. My first thought was "Cool" then I typed in my name and this was what it gave me: The Courageous Midget

Come on, I am not THAT short and I wouldn't go so far as to say I am courageous either, so I tried my maiden name and got The Confused Surfer. So if you had to choose between those two names which would you choose? I think I will try a little harder to come up with a better name. I have never been on a surfboard, and I am not a midget!

Wow - I never thought a kid wouldn't want to learn to ride! Even with a pretty new one, lol. I don't call it failure - when kids don't want to learn something it can be tough! Got a giggle from your SH names!
