Saying WuHu for CKU!

Okay, I am somewhat recovered from an absolutly wonderful weekend spent in Nashville at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel attending CKU. It was my first time at this event and everything that I had hoped it would be.

I had never really thought too much about actually meeting people that I have only seen in magazines or on tv because I am not what you would call a "celebrity stalker" but I do have to say that seeing recognizable faces for the first time is a rather heady experience. I was thrilled to be near them and I know that they are just normal everyday people that just happen to have one of the coolest jobs ever in the scrapbooking industry.

While wandering around the hotel Wed evening who do you think I see? C. D. Muckosky, Ali Edwards, and Becky Higgins. Come to find out the next day during the Make & Takes, but they were lost. Not surprising considering the size of the hotel!

It was so pleasing to be made to feel like the friend that they haven't seen in many years. Now I know that they must really get tired of having to smile, pose for countless pictures, signing their names a thousand times in a weekend, and just generally being the center of attention and being thought of as "scrap goddesses" but I guess to us folks that are just nameless faces in a crowd they are just that.

I was one of many that got pictures and autographs from them all, and as soon as Tori shows me how to upload from her camera I will post them all.

And on the homefront. I was missed terribly by everyone from the family to the dogs. Even the cats missed me a little. It was soooooo good to sleep in my own bed. I don't plan on being away from home anytime soon that is for sure!

Dad is really improving, but will not be driving anytime soon as he found out the hard way today. He decided to drive out to the haybarn to pick up Mom this morning and backed the truck into the fuel delivery truck and popped the fuel trucks tire with the hitch. I missed it of course, had to report for jury duty today (Welcome Home!) but he said that he most definitly will not be driving anytime soon.

Well, after a busy day getting mostly nothing done I think it is time to hit the ol' bed and read about Bubbles Yablonsky some more. :)
