Need to win the lottery!

Of course, in order to win you must play right?!

It seems that as the girls get older, the money they need for needs and wants just gets higher and higher. Yesterday we went to Hopkinsville to sit through an information meeting with Emily for a trip that she has the opportunity to take this summer with People to People. Now this is the same thing that Tori went on this past summer, just a different trip. Emily's trip would be 14 days in Canada. Starts in Vancouver and ends in Calgary. After hearing about it I wanted to go more than she did. On the 19th is Tori's informatin meeting on the upcoming trip that she is scheduled for to Paris, Rome, and several other places. Her trip is 21 days. The cost is high, but all inclusive except for passport and spending money except in Em's case and the airfare isn't included. Need roughly $10,000 for them to be able to go. They need to be doing some serious fundraising over the next several months!

Tori has been thinking seriously about applying for a new program at WKU. They call it the Academy for Mathematics and Science in Kentucky. It is for Jr's and Sr's and they finish HS and get 60 hours of college credit in 2 years. A very rigorous program, but she fits the bill for what they are looking for. The next step for her is to get her application in, get her teacher's picked for recommendations, and to take her ACT's. We plan to fill out that application this weekend and get it sent in. She has to score at least a 22 in math to qualify for the program, but at least she has a couple of opportunities to take it before the deadline in Feb 2008.

Amber is doing really well at school. She seems to like her classes and since her roomie is in the same program as she is they have a couple of classes together. I think that she is also finding it alot more "study intensive" than high school was for her. She hated to crack a book so she rarely studied, but she is really doing that now! Her boss at work got mad at her and told her she needed to pick between school and work and she told him that no job was worth giving up school for so he could take his job and find other things to do with it. I guess he is a real jerk. Goes through their personal things while they are at work, he calls her constantly telling her to quite ignoring his calls and show up to work when she isn't scheduled (she is in class when he does this) and other annoying things that no manager should be doing. She put in her notice, and will look for work somewhere else. I don't blame her one bit.

Looking forward to heading out on vacation in a few weeks. Been looking for things to do to keep us busy and found a whole lot. For sure we are spending a day at a plantation, on the beach, touring around Charleston, touring around Myrtle Beach, and who knows what else! I found 2 scrapbook stores that I plan to check out!

Loving the classes I am taking this month at BPS. Taking the Daily Dose, Choosing Joy, and Scrap those Scraps, and have signed up to a couple of classes that start in October. I don't always get the class projects finished. I have about 4 binders worth of printouts from other classes I have taken that really are only about half done, but I have been working extra hard to get everything done in these. I like to think of it as turning over a new leaf and trying to follow through with what I start.

Here is the binder I did for the Choosing Joy class. I am actually caught up with the binder part, and only have to listen to the audio and fill out the challenge pages.

The Daily Dose class is really fun in that there is something new to do every day. I did a door hanger for Emily's room, several layouts, tags and cards. Feels good to get stuff done again.
