A little behind and my first job

Sorry for getting a little behind on the blog prompts this week. Yesterday was a really long day! It began by getting up around 5 a.m. to shower and get ready to head to Nashville. My tests were scheduled for 8:30, but you just never know what traffic will be like on any given day down there. Will and I got there at 7:30 and didn't have to wait too long to get started. I had the Echo first and then they did the "Stress" part. I thought for an out-of-shape woman I didn't half bad. They started out at a 10% grade and work you up in speed and incline from there. I was able to go almost 10 minutes and had hit 14% incline and was walking a whopping 3.5 mph. My legs felt like jello but they got the after pics they needed and I will find out the results on Thursday.

I am really behind on the creative part of the My Freedom class. I am really behind on the creative side of everything. Mojo has gone on vacation or something cuz I just haven't been feelin' it lately. I did do a couple of the technique cards for my 52 card class on Sunday, but I really need to get going on the rest of it.

Today's blog prompt is to tell you all about my first job. I was 13 or so and there was a little drive-in that some of the local teens got the chance to work in and it was "THE" place to go for ice cream in the summer. I worked on and off there for about 3 years. I could make a killer shake and we had a lot of fun. The building itself was only big enough for about 2 or 3 people to be in at a time and there were 2 walk-up windows. Burgers, fries, shakes and malts were about the only thing on the menu. Considering it was the only place in town like that at all it did quite a business, and since is was located on the corner of Main street and the park it did good. It was a great job to start with. Makes me wish there were still places like that now that my kids could get their first jobs in.

Things were so much different where and when I grew up that there are alot of times that I wish that we could just go back to that. The world changes too fast anymore, or maybe I am just getting to be an old sentimental fool.
